Pianissimo offers a rich sound, with the expressiveness of a classic grand piano. It works both as a standalone application and as a VSTi plug-in.
Pianissimo uses a combination of playback samples and physical modeling to create the acoustic sound of a grand piano. The program comes with 250 MB of samples of a Steinway(tm) Model D grand piano quality, and uses signal processing and programming to recreate the smoothness, responsiveness, and feel of a real grand piano.
Next, a reverb algorithm is added, which creates the depth and ambiance of a real acoustic space. There is also the sound of sympathetic resonance, the incidental sound of the hammers, control of tone and response velocity, as well as 256 polyphony voices, and low CPU usage.
The VSTi will operate in any Audio Editing and Recording software that supports virtual instruments in the VSTi format. Used as standalone software, the program supports any MIDI equipment and Wave, ASIO, or WaveRT devices. It allows the recording of two tracks, as well as opening and saving files in MIDI type 1 standards, and allows exporting to WAV, MP3, WMA, and OGG.
