QQ for Android is a messaging and social networking application created by Tencent Technology (Shenzhen), traditionally very popular in China and used by hundreds of millions of people for communication, sharing, and entertainment.
QQ allows you to send text messages, audio, photos, videos, and files directly to other people or in group chats. It also supports voice and video calls, group calls, and the sending of large amounts of media.
The app integrates social tools, such as update feeds and participation in themed communities, where you can follow posts from other people and interact with content in real-time. There may be features that resemble mini social networks, with posts, photos, and status updates.
In addition to communication, QQ brings gaming centers with titles that can be played inside or outside the app and options for multimedia content like music, videos, and live broadcasts, integrating social and entertainment aspects in one environment.
You can customize your profile, choose themes, avatars, and stickers, and adjust how your conversations and notifications appear. The app also offers privacy tools to control who can see your data and who can contact you.
Some versions of QQ also support location sharing, contact synchronization, and file transfer between devices, including between Android and PC.
Historically, QQ had an international version with support for multiple languages. Recently it has been discontinued or faced limitations in registration with international numbers, which may make it more difficult to create or use accounts outside of China without a Chinese phone or local verification.
The latest version requires Android 6.0 or higher and can be downloaded via app stores or by installing the corresponding APK package.
