Tixati is a peer-to-peer file sharing client that utilizes the popular BitTorrent protocol. With Tixati, you can efficiently download large files by leveraging the cooperation of various peers on the network.
Tixati operates in a simple and intuitive manner. Once you have installed the software, all you need to do is find a .torrent file on the web. This file is small and contains metadata describing the much larger file that will be downloaded from other peers in the network. You can easily find these .torrent files using Google or hundreds of torrent sites that also feature organized categories for easy browsing.
After selecting and downloading a .torrent file from the web, simply open it within Tixati by clicking the "Add" button. Tixati will automatically connect to other peers in the network and initiate the download of the desired files, storing them conveniently in a folder called "Downloads" on your desktop.
Tixati offers a range of features, including detailed views of all aspects of the swarm (peer group), support for magnet links (eliminating the need to download .torrent files if a magnet link is available), efficient choking/unchoking algorithms for faster downloads, peer connection encryption for enhanced security, full implementation of the Distributed Hash Table (DHT) for trackerless torrents, detailed message traffic graphs, and customizable event logging.
