WinSnap is a fast and intuitive tool for capturing and editing screenshots. It stands out for its ability to capture windows with rounded corners and transparent backgrounds, taking advantage of the Aero Glass effects in Windows 7 and Mica Material in Windows 11. After capture, WinSnap automatically enhances the image with shadows, reflections, outlines, highlights, watermarks, arrows, shapes, and text annotations, providing a professional look with just a few clicks.
Since its initial version, WinSnap was designed to capture windows with rounded corners on Windows XP. With the release of Windows Vista, the program was improved to support the transparency of the title bar and native window shadows. Today, WinSnap even surpasses native tools, such as Windows Snipping Tool, especially when dealing with window effects in Windows 11.
In addition to capturing images, WinSnap offers simple editing features, allowing you to add arrows, lines, shapes, and texts without the need for a full image editor. It also offers tools like the Brush, for drawing smooth curves, and Pixelate, for quickly removing sensitive information from captures. Another useful feature is the Highlight tool, which allows you to highlight specific areas of the capture with multicolored effects.
After capture, it is possible to apply effects such as customizable shadows (color, size, direction, opacity), reflecting a more sophisticated and faster editing process. WinSnap also supports transparency in captures, allowing you to save images with transparent backgrounds and semi-transparent shadow and reflection effects.
One of the most advanced features of WinSnap is the simultaneous capture of multiple objects or regions on the screen. With the CTRL key, you can select multiple windows or specific areas, making it easier to create complex captures with various interface elements.
WinSnap allows you to save captures with a transparent background in PNG, ideal for those working in graphic design or needing screenshots with colorless backgrounds. Additionally, you can copy images directly to the clipboard and paste them into Microsoft Office documents, such as Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote.
