AMCap 9.23.300.6

Small and effective image capture application for digital cameras and webcams.

Description

AMCap is a lightweight and intuitive video and audio capture software for Windows, developed by Noël Danjou. It allows you to record images and sounds from devices such as webcams, capture cards, digital cameras, TV tuners, and DV cameras, being compatible with Microsoft DirectShow technology. Its main features include:

  • Video and audio capture: Records in formats such as AVI, WMV, and MPEG, with real-time compression to reduce file sizes. Supports audio capture from microphones or line inputs.
  • Image capture: Allows you to take photos in BMP, JPEG, and PNG formats directly from the video device.
  • Adjustable settings: Offers options to adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, resolution, frame rate, and video compression, as well as effects like transparency and overlay.
  • Advanced features: Includes support for multiple monitors, full-screen mode (ALT+Enter), always on top (F12), and recording/preview of DV and MPEG-2 sources. Version 9.23 added improvements such as optional real-time compression and support for analog TV tuners.
  • Simple interface: Features an uncomplicated design, ideal for beginners, but with customization options for advanced users. The program automatically recognizes devices connected to the PC.
  • Compatibility: Works on Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10, and 11, on both 32-bit and 64-bit systems, requiring at least 256 MB of RAM and a 1 GHz processor.

AMCap is ideal for basic video capture tasks, such as recording video calls, monitoring cameras, or creating simple tutorials, but it may not meet more complex needs, such as advanced surveillance or detailed editing. Installation is quick, with a small size (a few MB), and support includes user forums and basic documentation, although there are no built-in tutorials.
