Joplin is a free and open-source application for notes and tasks, capable of organizing a large amount of notes into notebooks. Notes can be searched, copied, tagged, and edited directly within the application or by external text editors, and are saved in Markdown format.
It is also possible to import notes from Evernote, preserving formatting (converted to Markdown), features such as images and attachments, and complete metadata data, including geolocation and creation and update dates. Simple Markdown files can also be imported into Joplin.
Operating in "offline first" mode, Joplin stores all information directly on the device, ensuring constant access to notes even without an internet connection. Synchronization can be done with end-to-end encryption on services like Nextcloud, Dropbox, OneDrive, and Joplin Cloud.
The application offers full-text search across all platforms and allows customization through plugins and themes, also enabling the creation of custom add-ons.
