Description
ScreenTemperature is an open-source application that allows you to adjust the color temperature of your Windows computer screen, helping to reduce the blue light emitted by the display. This can be useful to decrease visual fatigue, especially during prolonged use or at night.
Main Features:
- Blue light reduction: Allows you to adjust the screen color temperature (from 2000K to 6600K) to make it warmer (more reddish tones) or cooler (more bluish tones), depending on your preference.
- Instant modification: Unlike tools like f.lux, which apply smooth transitions, ScreenTemperature changes the color immediately.
- Customizable profiles: You can create and save multiple color temperature settings, each with a custom name.
- Hotkeys: It is possible to assign keyboard shortcuts to quickly switch between saved profiles.
- Multi-screen support: Allows you to adjust the temperature of each monitor individually in setups with more than one screen.
- Simple interface: Features a minimalist interface with a slider to adjust the temperature and clear options to manage profiles.
How It Works:
In the "Color" tab, you can use an algorithm (based on Tanner Helland) or manually set custom colors with a slider. In the "Configurations" tab, you can save your settings as profiles and assign hotkeys. The setting at the top of the list is used as the default when starting the program.
Limitations:
- There is no automatic scheduling option to change the temperature at specific times (unlike some competitors like f.lux).
- The shortcuts do not work as toggles; you need to create separate profiles (e.g., one for "normal" and another for "night") and assign different keys.
- Lack of advanced features, such as integration with hardware controls (e.g., Nvidia Control Panel) or support for complex key combinations.
