Description

The WebESC is a tool that allows monitoring changes in local or web files. It is possible to verify changes in file lists, whether for security reasons, backup integrity, or content consistency on the web.

Main Features:

  • Local Mode: Allows tracking changes in files on the computer, such as on hard drives, CD/DVD media, or USB devices. It also enables comparing different folders using relative paths, ideal for checking backups.
  • Web Mode: Checks for the existence of links and changes in the size of files hosted online, without the need to download them. It is possible to compare locally stored pages with versions published on the website, ensuring that all files have been uploaded correctly or identifying modifications.

The program uses scan list files in FLS format, created automatically during the first analysis or manually, reflecting the current state of the files. When comparing different states, WebESC detects discrepancies, such as changes caused by viruses, hackers, or legitimate application updates.

Although WebESC does not remove viruses, it is efficient in identifying changes that go unnoticed by many antivirus programs, making it a useful complement for file security and control.
