Description

WinFindr is a free and lightweight software developed by Macecraft Software for Windows systems, designed to make it easier to search for files, folders, keys, and registry entries. It allows for simultaneous searches with multiple search terms, using common words, file masks (wildcards), and regular expressions. The program supports the exclusion of specific data through negative search terms and offers the option to save results in TXT, CSV, or HTML formats.

Among its main features, WinFindr allows:

• Searching for files, folders, keys, and registry entries at the same time.
• Searching within text files, Microsoft Word documents, OpenOffice/LibreOffice Writer documents, and text-based PDFs, as well as Zip and RAR files.
• Filtering searches by file attributes, type, size, or creation date.
• Using a command line interface (CLI) with parameters such as /NR (no registry search), /NF (no file system search), /SUB (sub-match mode), and /AND (AND search logic).
• Supporting Windows dark mode and translations in several languages, including Portuguese.
• Offering a portable version (less than 2 MB) and a version for the Windows Command Prompt.

The software stands out for its speed, with improvements of up to 2100% in benchmark tests, and for not relying on indexing, unlike tools like Everything, although this may be a limitation in systems with many network drives. WinFindr also supports content search in PDFs without the need for third-party software and includes proximity search and natural language features, such as ignoring accents or variations of words in English (e.g., "invoice" finds "invoicing").

The Pro version, available for $23 (one-time payment), adds dedicated technical support and advanced command line parameters. WinFindr is compatible with Windows 11, 10, 8, and 7, being an efficient alternative to Windows Search, with an intuitive interface and a focus on productivity.
